LOS OSOS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
LOHS has a comprehensive athletics program that includes nineteen sports. It competes at the highest levels of athletics offered in California. In its short history, Los Osos has won 77 Baseline League championships. There have been 3 CIF individual championships and 10 CIF championships in both in both Boys and Girls Water Polo, Boys Swim and Girls Soccer. We have also had 18 CIF finals appearances. Along with these accomplishments, Los Osos has state of the art facilities that include a 3200 square foot weight room, 4000 seat stadium, all-weather track, turf football field, an Olympic sized pool and a college level training room. In addition, there are 22 on-campus teachers/coaches.

NCAA DIVISION I & II REQUIREMENTS
The NCAA Division I initial-eligibility rules have changed.
For students entering any college or university on or after August 1, 2008, NCAA initial eligibility will be evaluated under the 16 core course rule as described on this sheet.
THE NEW RULE:
INCREASES the new number of core courses from 13 to 14. This additional core course may be in any area: English, mathematics, natural/physical science, foreign language, no doctrinal religion/philosophy, or computer science. The breakdown of core course requirements are listed below.
16 CORE-COURSE RULE
16 Core Courses:
4 years of English
3 years of mathematics (Algebra I or higher)
2 years of natural/physical science (1 year of lab if offered by high school)
1 year of additional English, mathematics or natural/physical science
4 years of additional courses (from any area above or foreign language or nondoctrinal religion/philosophy)
2 years History
Students entering college on or after August 1, 2005, may not use any computer science courses to meet the core-course requirements.
