good evening really Nation business principal hope that everyone is staying safe and doing well I wanted to take a couple of minutes and just provided update everything that's going on as far as our Athletic program High School giving a new information that we received one from CIF will they release them new information that they announced as well as some new information that came from the state so starting first with understanding that this year's CIO condensed the three traditional Seasons I'll be started biking. validating nose and creating to NCIS season of sport one season which is serial season one is scheduled to take place January to the month of January to April with specifics specific dates in season two sports will take place hopefully during the month of March through June okay I'm keeping that in mind also made an announcement that season 1 Sports will not have any CIF playoffs or championships this year just given the time frame and where we currently are with they made that announcement of January 19th there will be no CIF playoffs or CIF I championships for the season 1 Sports so what are those sports that I'm saying in season 1 for Los Osos High School it would be our cross-country program are boys and girls are girls volleyball team and our football team so do Sports will not have the opportunity to have a CIF playoff or even CIF Championship however there is the potential for them to still be able to Pete in some fashion if the guidelines and expectations are met each sport has been designated a specific tear that they must be in in order to be eligible to compete in those tears are at least by the Department of Public Health and which specific Sports go in there okay so I still being in the purple to you which is the highest or widespread is the worst time to be in sport School in San Bernardino County California majority of the state as well as the badges of our district and our city are still in a purple tier cross-country that can compete in the purple tier given the nature of how to compete in that sport so soon there will be an opportunity for cross-country to begin preparing for that and I depending on the direction to program information to come they will have the opportunity to do so I'll for the sports that we have NCIS season 1 boys and girls water polo girls volleyball and football CIF and the Department of Public Health in our County in our area must the orange before they're eligible to be able to compete in playing if we don't reach those two years prior to the time frame given by CIA have to compete then they won't be eligible for able to support season 2 Sports at this at this point it's still possibility for season 2 Sports to be able to compete and barely competitions and still at this point potentially. postseason play it all depends on the progression and the status of where we are with covid-19 and also making sure they were falling all the guidelines and expectations said to buy Department Public Health in CIF sports that we haven't eaten season 2 starting first with the sports that are in the purple tier meaning these sports are eligible to compete golf swimming. boys and girls tennis and track and field goal Sports can compete in the purple tr4c is season two sports that will be soft Baseball sports and girls soccer and sports that need to be the lowest a tear for a covid-19 based on public health is boys and girls basketball in boys girls wrestling do we have not got to the point yet where those sports are even practicing but I just want to make sure I communicate that so what does this mean for Los Osos High School we will begin allowing for CIF season 1 Sports to begin conditioning only practices as early as February 1st okay with that so please note that participation in these practices is completely optional for both student-athletes as well as four coaches so it is not a mandatory mandatory is not required but if you would like to do so we are planning to make that available the PIN participation from the programs that I mentioned I do want to encourage you to make sure that you making your decision based on what's best for you and your family when talking about if your son or daughter is going to be participating in this and are you will be hearing from the head coaches of our program with details about how to program the moving forward and if they will be if and when and if and or when we beginning conditioning practices gif any reason which we totally understand if coaches are unable to force a to reason for their family participated in the school work with the coaches to identify an appropriate adult be able to supervise the students are participating even in and the conditioning I practices in and I'll be home before but coaches and programs that will be submitting of plan for approval to uphold everything within that plan the plan will it how athletes will enter and exit conditioning how temperatures will be taken athletes will condition and specific pods athletes and coaches will be reassign to athletes cannot make spots if pods are crossed is potential that the entire program cancel that it could be shut down athletes must be at least six or more distance from others all the times we do not fall these protocols will be shut down if we have to make sure these protocols please do your part to keep yourself save your family safe and those around you safe I fart academics we know it's been challenging I need to make sure the algebra participated in the expectation to be eligible however there is a waiver that some students may be eligible to be placed on a probationary. I still can't compete in the sport however students must have at least four classes were they do not have it at glow 2.0 and they want to look at a participating okay even if the GPS blow speak to your coaches about more details. They want to know that we will make sure that we missed and Spectators that we will not allow pictures Beyond Camp conditioning a practice is an event if you must bring your child to the practice you must remain in our designated parking spots and I also keep in mind that we will not have restrooms available for use when you coming to drop off are you sitting down for practicing self you will get more information detailed information specifically about your programs from your coaches but I want to provide an update for you and just know you have our commitment to continue to do all we can to keep our campus safety bar students in art Community safe and so we're going to fall at 4 to call and ask you to support us in those efforts as we do all we can to support our kids in the classroom and out thank you so much if you have two coaches or assistant principal Educational Services thank you so much and take care stay safe will talk to you soon
